Burglars returned to steal from property using a taxi service
Contents insurance customers may be shocked to hear about an incident where two residents returned home to find two thieves stealing from their property at 03:40 BST, according to one publication.
The pair had used a local taxi service to ferry £4,000 worth of goods from the house on Whitfield Terrace back to their flat three times, This is Plymouth reports.
Cash, a 32-inch television, a digital camera, a games console and a laptop were among the items recovered after police traced the offenders through the taxi company.
Daniel Mitchell, aged 20, from Lockyer Street has been sentenced to 16 months in jail and James McKay, also aged 20, from Keyham Road, will serve 18 months in a young offenders' institution. Both terms have had 38 days deducted for those spent in remand, the website continues.
News of this break in follows reports that a three-year-old girl has been involved in two distraction burglaries in Wellingborough - she and a 32-year-old man have entered houses in the area before taking cash from unsuspecting residents.
