Essex car theft to result in insurance claim?

The owners of a vehicle which was stolen in Essex may find themselves lodging a car insurance claim.

Officers in the area have appealed for information surrounding the incident which took place at a time between 15:00 BST on Monday July 26th and 02:00 BST on July 27th.

Criminals broke into a house on Grosvenor Road in Westcliff and took the keys to a car parked outside - the same motor was then involved in an accident in Ruskin Avenue.

Police Constable Craig Davis said: "We know that quite a few people saw the burglars run off the from the crash scene."

He added that the car owners were not aware about the theft until police officers told them about the collision and that he would like to trace the perpetrators before they strike again.

Homeowners could do well to keep car keys out of sight of doors and windows because it is widely reported that many break-ins are opportunistic and could be prevented if tighter security was implemented.

What our clients say

Simply the best
"I have had a UIA policy for a long time and no one has ever come close on price. I had to claim for a robbery on a previous policy and it was quick and easy to get everything sorted out."
