Castleton arrest could leave local car insurance customers relieved

People living in Castleton in Greater Manchester might be relieved to hear that two men have been arrested in connection with an incident that may have resulted in a car insurance claim.

The pair were reprimanded as a result of the theft that took place just before 22:10 BST on Monday September 20th - the driver was pulled out of his car before three men made off with the vehicle.

Detective Sergeant Martin Soutter said: "The victim has been left shaken by what happened so if anyone has any information about this crime or the offenders, then please don't hesitate to call."

A 20-year-old and a boy aged 17 have been remanded in custody as a result of the arrests and will remain so for further questioning.

Crimestoppers has issued some advice to motorists looking to avoid falling victim to a car jacking incident such as this. The organisation states that keeping windows rolled up and doors locked, as well as being cautious of anyone approaching the vehicle unexpectedly is recommended.
