Kennel Club: 'Pet insurance is important'
Individuals who have recently brought an animal into their homes have been urged to get pet insurance out to protect them.
According to a spokeswoman at the Kennel Club, "pet insurance is important" and may be required at the most unexpected of times.
She also believes that Brits need to count the costs of bringing an animal into care, so that it does not leave a household with money woes.
"As a dog is such an important and treasured part of the family, you need to know that you can afford to care for it properly," the spokeswoman explained.
When it comes to deciding which pet to choose, the expert noted that plenty of research should be carried out on different breeds, while people should also pay a visit to the animal's home before parting with any cash.
Meanwhile, couples who have seen their relationship drift apart have been warned by the Blue Cross that such situations can have emotional effects on a beloved pet.
