New website for travel insurance customers affected by Goldtrail collapse
Travel insurance customers affected by the collapse of tour operator Goldtrail have been advised to visit a new website set up by the administrators.
Begbies Traynor stated that the organisation has ceased trading - an action which left thousands of holidaymakers stranded in Greek and Turkish destinations.
Consumers have been advised to contact their travel agent - if one was employed - and their credit card provider if that was the method used in paying for the holiday.
Travellers currently abroad or with future reservations have been advised to get in touch with the Civil Aviation Authority to find out more.
Meanwhile, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has released statistics which state 19 per cent of those asked do not take out adequate travel insurance before leaving home.
Jeremy Browne, FCO minister, said: "Helping out Britons in trouble abroad is part of our job, but we can't get you out of jail or pay your hospital bills."
