Mystery of missing cats could underline importance of pet insurance

Animal lovers may have been reminded of the importance of pet insurance this week by events in Keelby, Lincolnshire, where four cats have gone missing in mysterious circumstances.

Local residents and the RSPCA are concerned about the isolated vanishing acts, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.

Despite being micro-chipped, all four of the cats have remained undetected thus far.

Brenda Proctor, of Second Chance Cat Rescue, told the newspaper: "They have been gone for almost two weeks and all of them went missing within a week. It can't be coincidence."

Although pet insurance cannot bring a creature home, it could be useful to the families affected by the disappearances - by, for example, providing compensation for a replacement pet or a more intense search for those lost.

Pet insurance may also be invaluable to the cat-owners should their feline friends return ill or injured, as it may be used to pay for expensive veterinary bills.

Simply the best
"I have had a UIA policy for a long time and no one has ever come close on price. I had to claim for a robbery on a previous policy and it was quick and easy to get everything sorted out."
