Spending-savvy Brits 'tackling travel costs'

More British holidaymakers are heading to destinations outside of the eurozone as a way of reducing the cost of their vacation, it has been claimed.

Independent travel agent Midlands Co-op Travel has noted that there has been an increase in the number of people looking to visit far-flung destinations in recent months, as the exchange rates for these places are more favourable at present.

Anyone going on holiday should remember to invest in travel insurance as a way of covering any medical costs or the replacement of lost luggage that might be incurred while abroad.">

"Holidaymakers are looking at all of their options - not just in terms of holidays but also in terms of finances - because people are often looking to reduce the amount of spending money they take with them," A spokesperson for the company noted.

Meanwhile, Sian Williams, country manager for trivago UK, recently stated that vacationing in Italy is becoming more attractive to UK holidaymakers as the majority of hotels in the country have cut their prices in recent months.
