Travel insurance may be sensible option when skiing
Die-hard skiers may want to purchase travel insurance before hitting the slopes this winter.
The poor economic climate will not dissuade skiers and snowboarders from giving up their sports because they are too passionate about them, according to Tim Holmes, organiser of the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show.
He said: "It is not the first thing they will give up as a consequence of a slight economic misfortune. Most people will give up going away twice or a long holiday somewhere [instead]."
However, skiers affected by the credit crunch may look to make cutbacks in other areas - and one such way could be by securing the best and cheapest travel insurance policy.
Many people could deem travel insurance vital in a risky pursuit like skiing - so it is important to check that a policy covers any eventuality on the slopes.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain more than 1.25 million people in the UK enjoy snow-based sports.
