Ben Fogle and James Cracknell 'set for travel insurance purchase'

Television presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle may be on the lookout for a comprehensive travel insurance policy after announcing details of his latest daredevil challenge.

Mr Fogle, accompanied by Olympic rower James Cracknell with whom he sailed across the Atlantic, will retrace the footsteps of Robert O'Hara Burke and John Wills, who attempted to walk the width of Australia 150 years ago.

The risks attached to such a task are illustrated by the fact that Burke and Wills never made it - meaning Fogle could be considering travel insurance a wise option to take.

"It's another environment [and] it's a whole new chapter in what we've done. It's not just a desert, it's open bush. You've got rainforests, you've got mountains, you've got swamps, absolutely everything," he said.

People planning on taking dangerous or adventurous trips in 2010 may also believe travel insurance is an invaluable investment.

Fogle made the announcement of his trip at the Adventure Travel Live conference last week.
