Swiss travel links opened by Eurostar

Eurostar has announced the setting up of new routes to 18 destinations in Switzerland, news that could be of interest to those contemplating purchasing travel insurance for a summer getaway.

The high-speed train company has announced a partnership with Lyria in order to set up links to these new destinations, with individuals now able to travel from London's St Pancras station to Zurich in just under seven and a half hours.

Simon Montague, Eurostar director of communications, said: "We are always looking at ways to facilitate greener travel throughout Europe on high-speed trains."

He added that the company will continue to explore new avenues of growth and partnerships that will facilitate the setting up of even more new routes in the future.

Meanwhile, Courtney Wylie, managing director of the website Holiday-Rentals.co.uk, recently noted that Britons are continuing to be attracted to the eurozone for short breaks and summer vacations, with destinations like the Cost del Sol, Nice, Cannes and the Canary Islands all receiving high levels of interest at present.
