Travel insurance customers might consider a visit to Corsica
Tourists planning their next holiday abroad might consider a visit to Corsica.
Angus Struthers, director of brand for TripAdvisor, said the Mediterranean island offers great scenery, golden beaches and could be an ideal "place to unwind".
Travel insurance customers could see the Calanche cliffs or the Chapelle de Notre Dame de la Serra, which offers "unparalleled views of the Calvi bay and Porto-Vecchio".
Corsica's landscape is various, with mountains, sandy coves and "beautiful" coasts and some areas have been described as "breathtaking" by visitors.
Mr Struthers' comments come in response to a study from Cheapflights.co.uk which found fewer people were searching for fares to the area - which could mean a less crowded holiday for some.
Meanwhile, the annual Holiday Lettings Travel Survey found that 65 per cent of respondents think a break away is more important than other purchases made with disposable income.
Just five per cent of those asked are just as happy spending time with the family at home when compared with jetting off abroad.
