All calls are answered by experienced claims handlers who are on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you can, check before you call that your claim is covered by your policy.

Most simple insurance claims can be dealt with in one phone call. Our claims handlers should be able to guide you through the claims process to resolve it as quickly and sympathetically as possible.

For quality and protection purposes, your call will be recorded. We exchange information with other insurance companies and the police to prevent fraud.

What else to do
You should first take any emergency action that may be necessary to protect your property from further damage, for example switching off the gas, water, electricity (if safe to do so) etc.

You should also keep any damaged items you wish to claim for, as we may need to see them. You should also gather any paperwork that supports your insurance claim, such as receipts, valuations, instruction booklets and guarantee cards. It may help to have photographs of the items too. In cases of theft, malicious or impact damage, you must inform the police at once. They will provide you with a crime reference number, which we will need to deal with your claim.

What happens next?
We will register your claim and set the wheels in motion. If an item has to be replaced, our nationwide network of suppliers can often provide a brand new replacement very quickly. If work needs to be carried out on your house or another building, we can appoint one of our preferred contractors who will contact you to arrange an appointment.
