Some Great Information from the Q&A

Sep.09, 2010 | James | UIA News

Last week’s Q&A with UIA’s marketing director, Ian Cracknell, provided some excellent information for UIA members in the form of answers to the questions posed.

The main focus of the questions centred on the mutual model and how this has been affected by the current economic plight.

Focus on the Mutual Model

The Q&A took place on the forum between 3pm and 4pm on Friday 3 September 2010. Visitors to the blog were invited to post questions to Ian about anything to do with money, insurance or UIA.

One question in particular that provoked a good response from Ian was posted by forum member, Parker. They asked how the recession had impacted on UIA, which led to the following response from Ian:

“Despite the recession UIA has being doing very well and in fact recorded a record performance last year. Unlike many of our competitors we believe that our mutual status has helped us to appeal to more customers during the recession.  Obviously we have had to continue to ensure that our products are competitive but we also know that there is now a lot of mistrust in the financial services sector at the moment and people like to deal with a company that they can trust, is community based and that they can have a stake in.”
