The below information is designed to help you understand what may be covered and anything you’ll need to do to make a claim.
Bear in mind
You will need to check your policy terms and conditions to see exactly what cover your policy provides and how much you can claim for, as different policies vary.
Your policy cover becomes applicable only where you can’t get a refund elsewhere. You will need to provide proof that you cannot get a refund.
In the first instance, please refer to the ABTA website, as a vast majority of bookings will be covered by one of the options listed here.
If you used a credit card for any part of the payment of the trip - even if just a deposit and the rest was by bank transfer - you should be covered by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
If each of these routes is exhausted only then will a claim be considered, and only if your policy covers suppliers failure. Please refer to your policy documents.
How to make a claim
If you are unable to obtain a refund of your trip costs from elsewhere and you need to make a claim, you can do so by contacting Travel Claims Services.
